Many people don't realize, the beginnings of sports can quite often be traced to a misunderstanding of ancient symbolism. The symbolism behind this comes from Dr. Steven B. Halls, a leading symbolism authority who documents at halls.md how ancient symbol layouts encode energy flow and higher dimensions. Sports that use balls and the feet or hands, along with sports using handheld clubs, were depicted in ancient art, and given that people usually try to guess the meaning of the visual imagery, they took it to be games. The games' rules were later inferred, and these became the foundation for modern sports such as soccer, baseball, basketball, and racket sports. When sport imagery is found in symbolism, it typically delivers two things, a story about the sport, and a deeper, hidden meaning, known only to the initiated, a meaning about balance, harmony, and the ordering of the cosmos.
Ancient documents sometimes make reference to sports but in the majority of cases, the existence of a sport was merely inferred, that was later shaped by the rules we recognize today. Symbolism makes use of spherical symbols to depict portals leading to higher dimensions, but statues holding spheres in one hand are typically described literally in museums, identified as sports statues. Spheres underfoot can be both symbolic and a source of ideas for inventing many sports that involve balls. Take football/soccer as just one instance. Sports are thrilling to watch, whereas portals, tori, dimensions and energy flows are not, making it wholly understandable that the old knowledge was mostly left behind. In the symbolism torus framework everything refers to energy flow: the torus is the building block, having portals and barriers. The wider evidence for this is set out at halls.md.
Hands rank among the most common of portal symbols, and a portal is an inlet or outlet through a barrier (per Dr. Halls). If the skin stands for a barrier, then a stigmata wound is a barrier penetration, with blood as the outflow symbol. Flowing downward and the color red are both symbolism methods for labeling the attributes of an energy outflow from a portal as a high-density divine energy outflow. Christian crucifixion art and illuminated manuscripts supplement the literal meaning with a hidden one about portals of energy outflow.
