The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 3, at 7:30 PM in Ashawagh Hall, 780 Springs-Fireplace Rd in Springs, between Parson Place and Old Stone Highway.  All are welcome!

FEBRUARY 4, Wednesday 10 A.M.         WATERFENCE (5 miles)     
A vigorous hike through some beautiful landscape.
  Come join our leader on a walk in Hither Woods. We will follow the Serpent’s Back Trail to the Waterfence shoreline overlooking Napeague Bay.  Meet at the Hither Hills West Overlook off Rt. 27, about 1 mile east of the Montauk Highway/Old Montauk Highway split.  Leader:  Ed Porco   

FEBRUARY 7, Saturday 10 A.M.            OCEAN VIEW TRAIL (3 miles)   
This moderate-paced hike will take us past Fresh Pond in Hither Woods and along a seldom traversed, somewhat hilly trail that offers glimpses of the ocean at the highest point.
  Meet at Hither Hills West Overlook on Route 27, about 1 mile east of the Old Montauk Highway fork.      Leader:  Eva Moore 

FEBRUARY 7, Saturday 9 A.M.             PAUMANOK PATH #2 (12 miles)  
This second leg of the Paumanok Path Series, features
East Hampton’s Northwest Woods.  Opened twenty years ago, this trail was the first Greenbelt Trail cleared by the East Hampton Trails Preservation Society.  Meet at the public parking area of the Three Mile Harbor Marina, on Three Mile Harbor Rd.  Approximately 2.5 miles north of the Hook Windmill on Main Street and carpool to the trail head.  Rain date February 14th.       Leader:  Richard Poveromo or day of the hike

FEBRUARY 11, Wed. 10 A.M.               MONEY POND CIRCULAR (5-6 miles) 
We will traverse the gorgeous Point Woods Trail and circle back to take the beauty of Money Pond.
  Meet at Camp Hero off Route 27 about one mile east of Deep Hollow Ranch in Montauk.  Leader:  Ed Porco  

FEBRUARY 14, Sat. 10 A.M.                 JACOB’S FARM / GREEN RIVER (3 miles) 
The two-mile Jacob’s Farm Loop will take us to historic
Green River Cemetery where we will meet some of the famous inhabitants.  Meet at the south side of Red Dirt Road approximately ¼ mile from Accabonac Rd.   Leader:  Nancy Kane           

FEBRUARY 18, Wednesday 10 A.M.      LOST BOULDER (4 miles) 
This scenic hike, a 3-4 mile loop offers spectacular views including the famous “Lost Boulder.” Meet at the
Montauk Recycling Center on the north side of Rt. 27 about 2 miles west of downtown Montauk.   Leader: Ed Porco 

FEBRUARY 21, Sat. 10 A.M.                COASTAL HITHER WOODS (3.5-4 miles)  
We will hike a combination of the Old North (Rum-Runners’) Road and the coastal trail to Quincetree Landing.
  Enjoy great views of Gardiner’s Bay, which is sometimes calm, often wild and windswept, always spectacular.  Take Second House Rd, left on Navy Rd.  Park at the end of Navy Rd.  Leader:  Carol Andrews cell:

FEBRUARY 21, Saturday 9 A.M.           MASHOMACK PRESERVE (8 miles) 
Leave the “mainland” for this local island adventure.
  A hike through the winter landscape of this pristine Nature Conservancy Preserve, is a “not to miss” experience.  Meet at the northern end of the Long Beach parking area in North Haven and carpool to Shelter Island.  Please call in advance for details.   Leader:  Richard Poveromo or day of hike   

FEBRUARY 25, Wednesday 10 A.M.     CULLODEN / GUNNUCK’S GARDEN TRAIL (3 miles)  
A beautiful hike along a trail loop at Culloden Point leads to spectacular views of
Fort Pond Bay, Block Island Sound, and the wetlands of Culloden Point.  Meet at the trailhead on Edgemere (becomes Flamingo) Avenue in Montauk, about 1 mile east of the firehouse, past Willis Point Rd intersection.  Leader:  Ed Porco

FEBRUARY 28, Saturday 10 A.M.          FISH FACTORY HIKE (2.5 - 4 miles)  
Tidal conditions will dictate the final route, which can be as much as 4 miles if high tides cause a 1.5 mile detour. Wear proper footgear.
  Meet in the parking area at the intersection of Cranberry Hole Rd and Napeague Meadow Rd in Amagansett.  Leader:  Nick Stephens
