AUGUST 2, Saturday 9 A.M. SAMMY’S BEACH (2.5 miles)
Enjoy an easy walk with gorgeous views of 3 Mile Harbor and Gardiners Bay. We will walk on sand and firmer land. Meet at the end of Sammy’s Beach Rd. (a right turn off Old House Landing Rd.) via Alewive Brook Rd.

AUGUST 6, Wednesday 9 A.M SHADMOOR STATE PARK (3 miles)
This spectacular hike includes a newly cut woodsy trail, close-up views of WW II bunkers, and one of the most awesome views on the East End along the dramatic Montauk bluffs. Portions of the trail can be muddy after a rain; wear proper footgear. Meet at the Shadmoor parking lot on the south side of Rt 27, about ½ mile past Montauk center. A large sign marks the entrance.

AUGUST 9, Saturday 9 A.M.-12 P.M. BACK ROADS OF SHELTER ISLAND BIKE RIDE (20 miles)
We will talk about the flora and fauna as well as Shelter Island’s history, our hope is to visit with Bennett Konesni, a young farmer, harvester and the present resident of Sylvester Manor. Meet in North Haven at the South Ferry Terminal. Make sure your bike is in good working order and helmets are required. Please confirm.

AUGUST 9, Saturday 9 A.M. CHATFIELD’S HOLE 3 (miles)
Named after an early East Hampton settler, Chatfield’s Hole is a beautiful glacial kettle hole surrounded by stately pine trees. Purchased for preservation in 1976, the area around the hole is one of the town’s first open-space acquisitions. Meet at the kiosk parking area on Rte 114 at the intersection of Edward’s Hole Rd in East Hampton (2 miles north of Stephen Hands Path).

AUGUST 13, Wednesday 9 A.M BUCKSKILL/HARDSCRABBLE (2.7 miles)
Here is a perfect “shortshanks” hike. We will walk this flat, but interesting mixed oak and pitch pine forest at a moderate pace. Meet on Route 114, a few yards from the intersection with Stephen Hands Path in East Hampton opposite the farm stand. Please do not park at the farm stand. Leader: Richard Lupoletti .
AUGUST 16, Saturday 9 A.M. POINT WOODS TRAIL (3 miles)
Walk along trails lined with large beech, tupelo, American holly, oak and black birch trees to the bluffs overlooking the Atlantic – you’ll come back invigorated and refreshed. On the return we will pass Battery 113 in Camp Hero. Meet on Camp Hero Rd. off Route 27 in Montauk, about a mile east of Deep Hollow Ranch.

AUGUST 16, Saturday 9 A.M. 3RD ANNUAL MONTAUK BIKE RIDE (20-25 miles)
A leisurely ride through roads of historical interest in Montauk. Meet at Montauk Library on Route 27, 1/4 mile east of village. Make sure your bike is in good working order and helmets are required.

AUGUST 16, Saturday 8 P.M. SUNSET/ FULL MOON IN THE WALKING DUNES (2 miles)
Get away from the maddening crowd. We will watch the sun set over the bay and then turn around and watch the full moon rise over the ocean. All this and learn a little about the Walking Dunes. Remember, long sleeves, long pants, insect repellent and flash light. Bring your own refreshments. Hike not appropriate for children. Rain Cancels. Meet at the end of Napeague Harbor Road off Route 27, north of the railroad tracks.

AUGUST 20, Wednesday 9 A.M. RALPH’S LANDING (2 miles)
Good things still come in small packages. This easy 2 miler (some beach walking) has the best water views in the Northwest including the Cedar Point Lighthouse, Barcelona Neck, Sag Harbor and Shelter Island. Meet at the water end of Mile Hill Rd. off Old Northwest Rd in East Hampton.

AUGUST 23, Saturday 9 A.M. BUCKSKILL/OLD MONTAUK HWY LOOP (4 miles)
Take a different route into the 700 acre Buckskill Preserve on this moderately paced walk through peaceful, dense oak and pitch pine forest: an easy hike basically flat land. Meet on a short section of historic Old Montauk Hwy, north of Route 27 about a hundred yards west of Almoncello Restaurant in Wainscott. Leader: Richard Lupoletti
AUGUST 27, Wednesday 9 A.M WATERFENCE (5 miles).
A vigorous hike through some beautiful landscape. Come join our leader on a walk in Hither Woods. We will follow the Serpent’s Back Trail to the Waterfence shoreline overlooking Napeague Bay. Meet at the Hither Hills West Overlook off Rt. 27, about 1 mile east of the Montauk Highway/Old Montauk Highway split. Leader: Ed Porco
AUGUST 30, Saturday 9 A.M. LOST BOULDER (3-4 miles)
This scenic hike has spectacular views from a Panorama including the famous “Lost Boulder” on this trail loop. Meet at the Montauk Recycling Center on the north side of Rt. 27 about 2 miles west of downtown Montauk.

AUGUST 31, Sunday 9 A.M. KAYAKING AND MOVEABLE FEAST
Paddle the western shore of Three Mile Harbor, Hands Creek and a bit of Sammy’s Beach then come to Richard and Joy’s house for coffee, bagels and fruit salad. BYO boat or order a delivered rental from Amagansett Beach and Bike . Meet at the end of Island Rd. in the Hampton Waters development off Spring Banks Rd. Life vest are required.
