This very special month brings us to the beginning of spring. What else can make us
smile as the first crocus pushes up through the snow? For additional hike information call . The next meeting of the EHTPS will be Monday, March 3 at 7:30PM at Ashawaugh Hall.
March 1, Saturday, 10AM: Oyster Pond (3-4 miles)
We will travel through the County Park and view the beautiful Oyster Pond and Block Island Sound. Meet at Third House in Theodore Roosevelt Park in Montauk.

March 2, Sunday, 10AM: Dumbbell Hike (7 or 13 miles)
Dumbbell describes the hiking route of this dual hike to Montauk Point, 7 or 13 miles. The pace will be steady, if not brisk, on this demanding hike. We will hike from Oyster Pond to Montauk Point with many scenic points along the way. Meet at Oyster Pond Overlook parking area, south side of Rt. 27, 1 mile east of East Lake Dr. Bring lunch and liquids and wear warm winter clothing.

March 5, Wednesday, 10AM: Waterfence (5-6 miles)
This beautiful hike takes us on the Serpent's Back Trail and along the shore to the Waterfence overlooking Napeague Bay. Meet at Hither Hills Overlook parking lot off Rt.27, about 1 mile east of Montauk Highway and Old Montauk Highway split, in Montauk.

March 8, Saturday, 10AM: Point Woods Dual Loop (3 or 7 miles)
Join us for a fast paced late winter hike beginning at Point Woods and onto the
Lighthouse. There will be a 3-mile turn around point or you can hike all 7 miles. Meet at Camp Hero Rd., south turn off Rt.27, about a mile east of Deep Hollow Ranch, in Montauk.

March 12, Wednesday, 10AM: Right of Way (4 miles)
We will hike this lovely unseen trail that parallels Rt. 27. It begins just outside the center of Montauk and winds through unexpected forest. Meet at the Montauk Library parking lot on the east side of town.

March 15, Saturday, 10AM: Stony Hill (5 miles).
Join us on a rerouted section of the Paumanok Path, through the oak forest of Springs and the beech forest of Stony Hill. Meet on the corner of Springy Banks Rd. And Soak Hides Rd., just west of Three mile Harbor, in East Hampton.

March 16, Sunday, 9AM: Seal Haulout (2 1/2 miles)
Dress warmly against the winter winds and hike to see the seals sunning themselves.
Bring binoculars. Meet at Camp Hero Rd., south off Rt. 27, about 1 mile east of Deep Hollow Ranch in Montauk.

March 19, Wednesday, 10AM: Morton's Wildlife (3 miles)
Enjoy a woodland trail, ponds and a beautiful beach. Meet in the refuge parking lot. The entrance to the refuge is on Noyac Rd. 2 miles west of the intersection with Noyac Long Beach Rd.

March 22, Saturday, 10AM: Jump Trail (4 miles)
This trail will take us into the Northwest Woods and past Grassy Hollow on our way into the Grace Estate. Meet at the intersection of Hands Creek Road and Van Scoys Path in East Hampton.

March 26, Wednesday, 10AM: Fresh Pond (3-4 miles)
We will hike to Fresh Pond in Hither Hills. Meet at the Hither Hills Overlook parking lot off Rt.27, about 1 mile east of Montauk Highway and Old Montauk Highway split, in Montauk.

March 29, Saturday, 10AM: Barcelona Neck (3 miles)
This 828-acre preserve includes spectacular dunes and views of Northeast Creek and Northwest Harbor. Meet at Sag Harbor Golf Course off Rt. 114.
