July 2, Wednesday, 9:00 AM, (2-3 miles)   MAIDSTONE PARK

Two double loops take us along a beach and scenic roads as our leader fills us in on the

area’s unique history.  Meet at the picnic area at the top of the hill on Maidstone Park Road, just beyond Michael’s Restaurant, via Three Mile Harbor Road and Flaggy Hole Road in East Hampton.

July 5, Saturday, 9:00 AM, (3-4 miles)   OYSTER POND

We will travel through the County Park and view the beautiful Oyster Pond and Block Island Sound.  Meet at Third House in Theodore Roosevelt County Park in Montauk.

July 5, Saturday, 9:00 AM, (6-7 miles)    NORTHWEST RAMBLE

Get out your long-distance walking shoes for this new combination loop following the Deb Foster Trail to Northwest Path to Five Corners, Whalebone Landing, and the new Timber Lane bypass. Bring snacks and plenty of water. Meet at Hands Creek Rd and Van Scoy’s Path West.

July 5, Saturday, 8:00 PM, (2 miles)   SUNSET & FIREWORKS

Here is a rare opportunity to learn about the great diversity of the Walking Dunes, see a stunning sunset, and then watch the Devon Yacht Club’s fireworks display.  Bring a flashlight, insect repellent, and refreshments of your choice.  This hike is not suitable for young children.  Meet at the end of Napeague Harbor Rd off Rte. 27 in Napeague. Heavy rain cancels.

July 9, Wednesday, 9:00 AM (3-4 miles)   ROCKY POINT PLUS
One of the best hikes in Montauk.  The route goes from Navy Road to Rocky Point onto the Paumanok Path and beyond. Meet at the end of Navy Rd.
Directions: Eastbound on NY 27, 3 miles east of Hither Hills Overlook, just past point where Montauk and Old Montauk Hwys. rejoin in Montauk, turn left onto Second House Rd. for about one mile; where road curves right, continue traveling straight onto Navy Rd.; cross over railroad tracks, take next left and follow road to end.  (Montauk)

July 12, Saturday, 9:00 AM    KAYAKING AND MOVEABLE FEAST

Explore the western and northern shores of Three Mile Harbor, including Hands Creek and Sammy’s Beach, then stop at Joy and Richard’s for coffee and….  Meet at the dead end of Island Rd in the Hampton Waters section of East Hampton, off Springy Banks via Three Mile Harbor Rd. BYO boat or call for delivered rental (Amagansett Beach and Bicycle, ).

July 13, Sunday, 8:00 PM  (2 miles)    FULL MOON HIKE

Enjoy the luster of moonlight on the mysterious Walking Dunes. Bring a flashlight and insect repellent.  Meet at the end of Napeague Harbor Rd off Rte. 27 in Napeague.

July 16, Wednesday, 9:00 AM  (2 miles)   DOMINY TRAIL

Discover a gem of a trail and learn about the family behind the name. Meet on Spring Close Hwy in East Hampton, midway between Rt 27 and Town Lane, just north of LIRR overpass.

July 18, Friday, 6: 30 PM   ANNUAL BEACH PICNIC

Indian Wells Beach, Amagansett.  No parking sticker required after 6 PM. Rain date: July 25th.  $10.00 fee.  Please call to sign up for your food contribution or any questions.  RSVP NO LATER THAN JULY 11. 

July 19, Saturday, 9:00AM  (2 miles)      SPRINGS HIKE / MOVEABLE FEAST

Hikers will explore local trails in the Springs Woodblock area.  We will return to the home of Mitzi and Perry Pazer for post-hike refreshments.  Meet at 130 Talmadge Farm Lane off Springs Fireplace, about ½ mile past the intersection of Old Stone Highway (Ashawagh Hall) on the left.

July 23,Wednesday, 9:00 AM (3-4 miles)   BIG REED POND

Enjoy many beautiful water views of Big Reed Pond, including a Registered Natural Landmark. Meet at the parking area off Eastlake Drive, about 2 miles north of the intersection with Rt. 27 in Montauk.

July 26, Saturday, 8:30 AM    KAYAK PADDLE

A picturesque paddle from the shore of Northwest Harbor up tranquil Alewive Creek into Cedar Point Park and Alewive Pond.  Bring liquids, sunscreen, and a life jacket (if you are bringing your own kayak).  Meet at the end of Alewive Brook Rd. at the beach.  Kayak rentals are available from Amagansett Beach and Bicycle, .

July 30, Wednesday, 10:30 AM  (3 miles) 


   HIKE AND PICNIC

Pack a light lunch and towel or mat in your carryall and join us for an idyllic summer experience. We will hike through the magical Point Woods and picnic on the majestic bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
