September 1, Sunday, 4PM: Kayak, Picnic & Sunset

First we will kayak then we will picnic and finally we will gather to watch the sunset.  You may join us for all or any part of this outing.  Please bring sunscreen, life preserver

(if you are bringing your own kayak), insect repellent and picnic food and drinks.  Kayak rentals are available from East Coast Adventure Co. .  We will meet at the Fresh Pond at the end of Fresh Pond Rd. in Amagansett.

Monday, September 2       (last 9AM hike) 9AM: Laurel Canyon (5 miles)

Too late for the Laurel in bloom, but there is still the canyon, Panorama, Lost Boulder and Ram Level, well worth the effort of this somewhat hilly terrain.  Meet at the Montauk Recycling Center off Rt. 27, about 3 miles east of split with Old Montauk Highway.

September 4, Wednesday, 10AM: Northwest (3-4 miles).

Views of 4 different bodies of water in the Northwest are featured in this woodland/ shoreline walk thru the Grace Estate and Cedar Point Park.  Meet at the schoolhouse plaque, on Northwest Rd. About 3/10 mile from the intersection with Alewife Brook Rd. In East Hampton.

September 7, Saturday, 10AM: Culloden Point

This hike is noted for the spectacular views of Fort Pond Bay, Block Island Sound and the freshwater wetlands of Culloden Point.  Meet on Edgemere/Flamingo Road in Montauk on the way to Gossman's Dock, approximately 1 mile north of the firehouse, on the west side of the road (3 miles).

September 11, Wednesday, 10AM:  Waterfence (5-6 miles).

This stunning hike takes us on the Serpent's Back Trail and along the shore to the Waterfence overlooking Napeague Bay.  Meet at Hither Hills Overlook parking lot off Rt. 27, about 1 mile east of Montauk Highway and Old Montauk Highway split, in Montauk.

September 14, Saturday,  10AM Northwest (3-4 miles).

September 18, Wednesday, 10AM:  Springs Woodblock (2 miles).

Explore neighborhood trails in the Springs woodblock area.  Learn about recent land acquisitions.  Light refreshments to follow at our hike leader's home.  Meet on Talmage Farm Lane at the corner of Haynes Lane, ¼ mile from Springs Fireplace Road.

September 21, Saturday, 10AM:  Stony Hill ( 5 miles)

Join us on a newly rerouted section of the Paumanok Path, through the oak forest of Springs and the beech forest of Stony Hill.  Meet on the corner of Springy Banks Rd. and Soak Hides Rd., just west of  Three Mile Harbor. in East Hampton.

September 21, Saturday, 7:PM  Sunset / Full Moon (3 miles).

Say good-bye to summer with a glorious sunset and a sparkling moonlit beach walk.  The pace will be moderate and the atmosphere mellow.  Meet at the end of Napeague Harbor Road off Rt. 27 in Napeague.

September 25, Wednesday, 10AM: Shadmoor  (2 + miles).

We walk near the ocean and the hoodoos on this short but lovely hike.  Meet at the new parking lot to Shadmoor about ½ mile east of the Montauk library on the south side of Rt. 27.

September 28, Saturday, 10AM-Noon: Kayak Outing

Ray Hartjen, an "old salt" will lead us in this kayak/canoe exploration of Accabonac Harbor.  BYO boat or call East Coast Adventure to rent a kayak. Meet at the end off Old Stone Highway, about ½ mile south of Springs Country Store.
