July 3, Wednesday, 9AM: Buckskill Hardscrabble (3 miles)

This attractive, flat terrain needs to be done before the ATV's destroy this trail completely.  Meet at the intersection of Rt. 114 and Stephen Hand's Path in East Hampton. Please DO NOT park in the vegetable stand parking lot.

July 6, Saturday, 9AM:  Point Woods (5 miles)

New sections of Point Woods and Turtle Cove make this hike spectacular +.  We will hike Point Woods and continue on to Turtle Cove.  Meet at Camp Hero Rd.; right turn off Rt. 27, about a mile east of Deep Hollow Ranch, in Montauk.

July 6, Saturday, 8PM:  Sunset and Fireworks (2 miles).

We will gather on the Walking Dunes to watch the glorious setting sun followed by the Devon Yacht Club's fireworks.  Please bring a flashlight, a long sleeve light covering and mosquito repellent.  Meet at the end of Napeague Harbor Road off Rt. 27 in Napeague.

July 10, Wednesday, 9AM:  Right of Way (3 miles)

We will hike this lovely unseen trail that parallels Rt.27.  It begins just outside the center of Montauk and winds through an unexpected forest.  Meet in Theodore Roosevelt County Park, on the north side of Rt. 27, about 31/2 miles east of the center of Montauk.

July 13, Saturday, 9AM:  Long Pond Greenbelt (4 miles)

This lovely hike in Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor will take us by Long Pond as well as several other ponds in this park.  Meet at the parking lot to Mashashimuet Park at the intersection of Jermain Ave. and Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike.

July 14, Sunday, 9AM: Bike Ride

We will meet at the ferry to Shelter Island in North Haven and park our cars.  We will then take the ferry to Shelter Island and discover the hidden treasures as we pump our bikes for 2 hrs. across this lovely island.  Helmets, water and snacks are required.

July 17, Wednesday, 9AM: Gerard Drive (2+ miles)

Enjoy a beach and road walk with views of both Gardiner's Bay and Accabonac Harbor.  Meet at the first causeway on Gerard Drive.

July 20, Saturday, 9AM: Buckskill Dual Distance (3 miles or 7 miles).

Walk one or both Buckskill loops.  Either way you end up refreshed and exhilarated.  Meet at the intersection of Rt. 114 and Stephen Hand's Path in East Hampton. Please DO NOT park in the vegetable stand parking lot.

July 21, Sunday, 9AM:  Hike and Swim (5 miles).

We will meet at the Hither Hills overlook, off Rt. 27, ½ mile east of the Montauk Highway and the Old Montauk Highway split.  After hiking to Fresh Pond we will go for a swim, rest and snack.  The pace will be moderately fast.  Snacks, water, sunscreen and swimsuits are highly recommended.  This is a rain or shine hike.

July 24, Wednesday, 9AM:  Waterfence  (5 miles)

This hike starts at the Serpent's path and continues along the shore to the Waterfence area.  Meet at the Hither Hills overlook parking lot off Rt. 27, about 1 mile east of Montauk Highway and Old Montauk Highway split, in Montauk.

July 26, Friday, 6:30PM:  Annual Picnic

Indian Wells Beach, Amagansett.  Parking not required after 6PM


July 27, Saturday, 9AM: Combination Loop. This hike is both a 4 miler and an 8 miler. 

Hike this combination of trails in the Northwest area of East Hampton.  Bring plenty of water and snacks for this moderately paced hike.  Meet at the Schoolhouse Plaque, on the east side of Northwest Rd. ¼ mile from Alewife Brook Rd. intersection.

July 31, Wednesday, 9AM: Grassy Hollow. This is a 3+ mile hike.  

This is a variation of a hike that is both pleasing and interesting to us all.  Meet at the School House Plaque, on the east side of Northwest Rd. ¼ mile from Alewife Brook Rd. Intersection.
