Two of our past presidents have a new and beautiful trail for us to hike while another past president has a surprise hike planned for us. We are also scheduled to see the mountain laurel in bloom.
The June meeting of EHTPS will be Monday June 4 at 7:30 at Ashawagh Hall.
Saturday, June 2 Hither Woods 10:00 AM (4 miles).
In observation of National Trails Day we will do this stunning hike which takes us up Serpents Path, to Block Island Sound, along the shore to the Waterfence, overlooking Napeague Bay and past Fresh Pond. Meet at the Hither Hills overlook parking lot off Rt. 27, about 1 mile east of Montauk Highway and Old Montauk Highway and Old Montauk Highway split in Montauk.

Saturday June, 2 Birdwatching Hike 8:00 AM
Slowly stroll with member expert John deCuevas as you feed chickadees from the palm of your hand and other-birding delights. Meet at Morton National Wildlife Preserve, off Noyac Rd., a few miles west of Sag Harbor. Bring binoculars. Call for additional information.

Wednesday, June 6 Split Rock 10:00 AM (3- 4 mile loop)
Enjoy spectacular views from Panorama then visit the famous Split Rock. Complete this beautiful hike at the home of Joan and Ed Porco for refreshments. Meet at 148 Monroe Drive in Montauk. Take Rt. 27 to the first right past the Montauk Recycling Center which is Lincoln Rd. Turn right onto Lincoln Rd. Travel 2 streets, and turn left onto Adam Street then turn right onto Monroe.

Saturday, June 9 Memorial Hike 10:00 AM (2-3 miles).
This hike was a favorite of Debbie King, a member and hike leader whom we lost one year ago. In her memory we will do the double loop of this road and beach walk. Our leader will supply the history and nature will supply the beautiful views. Meet at-the picnic area at the top of the hill on Maidstone Park Road, just beyond Michael's Restaurant, via Three Mile Harbor Road and Flaggy Hole Road in East Hampton. Leader: Nancy Kane -
Sunday, June 10 Mountain Laurel Hike 10:00 AM (4-5 miles)
Enjoy the views from Panorama, and then hike through spectacular Laurel Canyon, in bloom. Lost Boulder and Ram Level are also on this loop. Meet at the Hither Hills overlook parking lot off Rt. 27, about 1 mile east of the Montauk Highway and Old Montauk Highway split in Montauk.

Wednesday, June 13 Big Reed 10:00 AM (3-4 miles)
Enjoy many beautiful water views of Big Reed Pond, including a Registered Natural Landmark. Meet at the parking area off Eastlake Drive, about 2 miles north of the intersection with Rt. 27 in Montauk.

Saturday, June 16 Dynamic Duo 10:00 AM
The title of this hike refers to both the hike and the hike leaders. New sections of Point Woods and Turtle Cove make this hike spectacular +. For its inauguration, two of our past presidents are jointly leading a 3 and/or 6-mile hike, take your pick! We will hike Point Woods and continue on to the Light House. Meet at Camp Hero Rd.; right turn off Rt. 27, about a mile east of Deep Hollow Ranch, in Montauk.

Wednesday, June 20 Secret Hike 10:00 AM (3-4 miles).
This hike leader, a past president, promises us many new turns and surprises on this Otherwise familiar and favorite hike on the Grace Estate. Meet at the School House Plaque on Northwest Rd. about 3/10 mile from the intersection with Alewife Brook Rd. in the Northwest section of East Hampton.

Saturday, June 23 Northwest Hike 10:00 AM (4 miles).
The hike leaders of this beautiful trail will be showing off their adopted portion of the Paumanok Path. As we hike along be sure to comment on the pristine condition of the trail. Meet at the comer of Edward's Hole Rd. and Rt. 114, in East Hampton

Sunday, June 24 Hither Woods 10:00 AM (11 miles)
After we shuttle to Napeague Harbor Rd. we will hike the beautiful Paumanok Path. The leader will maintain a steady pace of about 2 1/2-mph with stops for viewing and lunch. Bring water and lunch. Sturdy shoes and long pants are recommended. Meet at the Montauk Recycling Center on the north side of Rt. 27, about 2 miles west of Montauk Hamlet.

Wednesday, June 27 Exercise Hike 10:00 AM (3-4 miles)
This will be an "at your own pace" exercise hike along farmland and through a beautiful beech forest. Bring water. Meet on Abrahams Path in western Amagansett about 2/10 mile north of intersection with Town Lane, in East Hampton.

Saturday, June 30 Grace Estate Hike 10:00 AM (6 miles)
This "everything" hike takes us through Oak Forest, Pine Forest, old meadows and of course beach harbor, with spectacular views. Meet at the School House Plaque on Northwest Rd. about 3/10 mile from the intersection with Alewife Brook Rd. in the Northwest section of East Hampton.
