Wednesday, August 1 - Bike Ride in the Springs - 9:00 AM - (2 hours; 10 miles)
Join us as we bicycle leisurely through the Springs area of East Hampton on a loop that includes breathtaking panoramic views of Accabonac Harbor, Gerard and Louse Points, Gardiner's Bay, Sammy's Beach and Three Mile Harbor at Maidstone. Co-sponsored by the Group for the South Fork (reservations are not required). Meet at Ashawagh Hall on Springs Fireplace Road. Participants should wear a helmet and bring plenty of water. Cyclists and their bicycles should be in good working order. This ride is too difficult for young people less than 12 years of age.
Directions: Travel 3 miles past Daniels Hole Road on Montauk HWY/NY-27. Pass Hook Pond after left at light. Turn Left onto N. Main St (just before windmill) 0.6 miles: Proceed under train Trestle: N. Main St. becomes Springs Fireplace Rd (bear right at fork – don’t take Three Mile Harbor Road on your left). After 4 miles, just past School Street on your right by Parsons Place, just before Old Stone Highway, is Ashawagh Hall. If you pass the entrance to the Nature Conservancy’s Merrill Lake Sanctuary, you have gone too far north.

Saturday, August 4 - Panorama - 9:00 AM - (4 miles)
This hike takes us by a stunning view of Napeague Bay, Lost Boulder and Split Rock. Meet at the Hither Hills overlook parking lot off Rt. 27, about 1 mile east of Montauk Highway & Old Montauk Highway split in the town of Montauk on the north side of the road.

Saturday, August 4 - Sunset and Full Moon - 7:45 PM - (3 miles)
Enjoy a spectacular summer sunset before hiking and a beach walk that ends under a dazzling full moon. Some car moving involved. Meet at Hither Hills overlook off Rt. 27, about 1 mile east of split with Old Montauk Highway in Montauk on the north side of the road.

Wednesday, August 8 - Stony Hill - 9:00 AM - (3 miles)
Picture this, a hike that will take us by shady canopies of beautiful beech and Oak Forest, clay pits and Bakers Hole. Meet at the intersection of Fresh Pond Road and Cross Highway, by the 2 boulders, in Amagansett.
Directions: Heading east traveling through Amagansett, take Abrams Landing Road, on your left, over RR tracks past South Fork Country Club. After ½ mile find Fresh Pond Road on your left. Follow Fresh Pond Rd. approx. 1.25 miles to intersection with Cross Hwy.

Saturday, August 11 - Miller's Ground - 9:00 AM - (3 to 4 miles)
This somewhat hilly hike is becoming one of our favorites. It offers old, yet small oak trees and a serpentine trail to enjoy. Meet on Wainscott Northwest Road (also known as Daniels Hole Rd.) and the Power Line Rd. north of the East Hampton airport.
Directions: In Wainscott approx. 2 miles into East Hampton, North of Georgica Pond, look for airport sign and follow Daniels Hole Road north over RR tracks, through East Hampton Airport. Road turns into Wainscott Northwest Road near where it passes over power lines.

Wednesday, August 16 - Shadmoor State Park – 9:00 AM - (3 miles)
We will overlook the broad Atlantic with views from the highest oceanfront bluffs on Long Island. Meet at the Ditch Plains Beach parking area in Montauk. TOWN PARKING PERMITS necessary. Call to car pool.
Directions: The Park is 0.7 miles east of the Montauk village green on the south side of Route 27. Ditch Plains Rd. is a mile further east on your right.

Saturday, August 18 - Cedar Point Park – 9:00 AM - (3 miles)
Enjoy spectacular views from a cliff high above Gardiner's Bay as we walk through the serene hard wood forest of this beautiful county park. Meet in the park off Alewife Brook Rd., in the Northwest section of East Hampton. Continue to the parking area, next to the pavilion, across from the campground.
Directions: On Montauk Highway heading east you will see the Wainscott town sign. Pass Daniels Hole Road (this is the road for the East Hampton Airport.) Take the next left turn (North) Stephen Hands Path. Bear left onto Old Northwest Road. Stay on Old NW RD until you reach Northwest Road. Make a right onto Northwest Road; take it to the end, then make a left onto Alewive Brook Road. Make a quick right onto Cedar Point Road. You are now in the Park.

Wednesday, August 22 - Exercise Hike - 9:00 AM - (3-4 miles)
This will be an "at your own pace" exercise hike. Be prepared for a good workout if that's what you are looking for. Bring water. Meet on Abraham's Path north of Montauk Hwy. in West Amagansett about 2/10 mile north of intersection with Town Lane.

Saturday, August 26 - Steve's Picnic & Hike – 9:00 AM - (3-4 miles)
Every summer Steve leads a hike that ends with a "bring your own lunch" picnic. We will provide the drinks and watermelon. This year the hike and picnic will be at Fresh Pond. Meet at Fresh Pond parking lot at the end of Fresh Pond Rd. in Amagansett.
Directions: Heading east traveling through Amagansett, take Abrams Landing Road, on your left, over RR tracks past South Fork Country Club. After ½ mile find Fresh Pond Road on your left. Follow Fresh Pond Rd. to its end.

Sunday, August 26 - Buckskill Airport Loop – 9:00 AM - (4 miles)
Within eyesight and earshot of many infrastructures you can enjoy a romp on a beautiful, seldom hiked trail in the neglected western end of our trail system. Meet on Wainscott Northwest Rd. (Edward Hole Rd.) at the power line road just north of the airport. (See August 11 for directions)

Wednesday, August 29 - East Hampton Ramble 9:00 AM – (2 hours)
Join us for a leisurely bicycle ride through the estate section of the Village of East Hampton. We'll pedal along tree-lined colonial era streets, past an historic cemetery and many grand "cottages" and take a look at some beautiful area ocean beaches along the way. Co-sponsored by the Group for the South Fork (reservations are not required). Participants should wear a helmet and bring plenty of water. This ride is too difficult for young people less than 12 years of age.
Meet in the south end of the 24-hour public parking lot behind Herrick Park, off Lumber Lane.
Directions: In the Town of East Hampton, turn left onto Newtown Lane, then a left onto Lumber Lane.
