THE COASTAL RESEARCH AND EDUCATION SOCIETY OF LONG ISLAND, INC.
C.R.E.S.L.I. is an organization with a core cadre of scientists and naturalists who have invited the general public to assist them in the investigation and preservation of the animals and plants of the sea. Our mostly volunteer staff has a mandate to bring to the public’s attention threats and benefits that come from the largest realm on earth, the sea. One creature that sparks curiosity and invites contemplation is a group of sea mammals, the pinnipeds: Seals, Sea Lions, and Walrus.
C.R.E.S.L.I. has organized a series if field experiences, on land and at sea, to study local pinnipeds. These field trips are open to the public, on a reservation basis.
Seal walks: Meet at Montauk concession stand, 15 min. before the walk is scheduled.
The walk is approx. 3 miles round trip along the beach. There is 1 hour of observation, usually 3-4 hours total. There is a suggested donation of $5.00/ person.
